MCPARC has recently acquired the Guyses Run Fishing Park near Colfax. The old Eastern, Peabody Coal property has excellent fishing opportunities and unlimited recreational potential. MCPARC along with WVU and the Marion County Commission is planning major infrastructure improvements to turn this naturally beautiful park into a top of the line community fishing park.

Recent improvements include; landscaping, painting, benches, picnic tables, an ADA picnic area, grills, steps between the two fishing ponds, and signage. Species of fish include trout, hybrid blue gill, catfish, large mouth bass, and hybrid striped bass.

Guyses Run Operation and Admission:
Wednesday 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Adults: $2.00
Children: Free

Friday 6:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M. Adults: $2.00
Children (7+): $2.00
Children 6 and under: Free

Saturday 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Adults: $3.00
Children (7-13): $2.00
Children 6 and under: Free

Sunday 1:00 P.M – 5:00 P.M. Adults: $2.00
Children (7+): $2.00
Children 6 and under: Free

All fishing is catch and release, except for the trout which can be taken at $3.00 per trout.

Adults do not need a license to fish here!!

Accommodations are available for group reservations.
Directions:
Exit 137 off I-79/ Rt. 310 toward Grafton, about 2 miles turn right on Colfax Road. About 1 mile right, 3 big ponds and gate.
