Nothing displays the fabric of a community more than its Fairs and Festivals, and Marion County features a diverse group of events sure to please the whole family.
Special music, fabulous food, handmade crafts, Appalachian culture and fascinating history are just a few of the areas our numerous festivals highlight. We love to have a good time, and we know you will, too.
18th Century Christmas Market
www.prickettsfort.orgA unique shopping experience in a historic environment. Artisans will demonstrate and feature works for sale in the Fort’s Visitors Center. The Market area is open free of charge and live music will be featured daily. The Fort buildings and Job Prickett House will be decorated for the season and costumed interpreters will give tours. Tours require a ticket. Food will be available.
Annual Holiday Historic Homes Tour
www.marionhistorical.orgA favorite event in Fairmont is the Holiday Historic House Tours held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Sites are open for your entertainment and enjoyment. Most will be decorated for the upcoming holidays, some will have live entertainment and many will have tasty tidbits to offer.
Celebration of Lights
Each year, just after Thanksgiving, Fairmont’s Celebration of Lights kicks off. The annual holiday program takes place at Morris Park just off Pleasant Valley Road and is 1.3 miles of animated Christmas displays. Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday Nights in December, $5.00 Donation admits 1 car. Subject to weather conditions.
Fairview July 4th Celebration
www.fairview4th.orgOld-fashioned family summer fun in Fairview, West Virginia, with a parade, a community band concert, non-partisan patriotic speeches, a cakewalk, games and contests for the kids, musical entertainment and a fireworks show!
Feast of the Seven Fishes
www.mainstreetfairmont.orgThe Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival is held the second Saturday in December to celebrate the Italian Christmas Eve tradition. It’s a one day event with food, shopping, music, cooking demos, fish, and a street market.
Harvest Festival
www.prickettsfort.orgEnjoy a fall weekend that focuses on 18th century foods including demonstrations and displays about wild game, food production, harvest, preservation, cooking, customs and manners. Regular admission is required for the historic attractions and festival.
Heston Arts & Music Festival at Heston Farm
The annual Heston Arts & Music Festival (HAM) is held the second Saturday and Sunday in July. Come and experience the regions most talented artists and musicians, displaying their art and performing throughout the day.
Johnny Johnson Blues and Jazz Festival

July 4th Celebration

Mannington District Fair
The Fair is held the first full week in August of each year. "Where the Fun Begins and Never Ends." While visiting the fair please take some time to meet old friends and make new ones and to visit our wonderful city. August 5th - 10th, 2013!
