Rare is the place where you can feel so far away from it all while being so close to home. Our spectacular outdoor beauty includes roaring rivers and waterfalls, accessible bicycle trails and rugged horseback riding terrain. From the early morning light to the spectacular sunset against a mountain backdrop, you’ll enjoy every minute of the Marion County outdoors.

Geocaching
One of the fastest-growing segments of outdoor recreation is perfect for individuals, small groups of friends or entire families. Dozens of caches are located throughout Marion County, and this treasure hunting game is a great way to explore “off the beaten path” locations in the area. Visit geocaching.com.

Birding
Few activities provide the sense of relaxation – and frequent accomplishment – that birding does. Take binoculars, and maybe a guidebook, and head for the hills. Bird enthusiasts cite the Marion County Trail, Mon River Rail Trail and West Fork River Trail as great places for a special find.

Motorcycling
Whether you come alone or as part of a group, our back roads offer spectacular scenery and terrific terrain for riding. Stop by our office to pick up a map with suggested rides!
